Anthem’s Sound For Screen is a free event taking place on Saturday 21st February at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff designed to offer an insight into career pathways associated with making music for screen.

The event is for composers, songwriters & producers interested in creating music for TV, Film or Games as a potential career avenue.

There are 35 spaces available for participants aged 18-25 (or 18-30 if d/Deaf, disabled or neurodivergent) and based in Wales.

Potential Career Pathways with Screen Alliance Wales

Music is highly influential in the production of a TV programme or film, but not always in the most obvious ways. In this talk, learn about the different opportunities music can open up in the TV & Film industry, and some of the different pathways to getting there.

Composition for Film & Television with John Meirion Rea, featuring Niamh J O’Donnell

John Meirion Rea is an experienced composer of music for film and television, also a sound artist working with interdisciplinary installation. John will be talking about the realities of composing ‘to picture’, and what it means to be a freelance composer today. John will also talk about the potential pathways that exist in the industry, and his mentoring work with ‘It’s My Shout’ featuring comments from composer Niamh O’Donnell.

Composition for Video Games with Ryan Robinson (Quay games), Jake Gaule (Submerged Tapes) and Harvey Carman
