Unlocked is a series of multi-genre showcase events for young people (14-21)  to perform and enjoy live music. unlocking creative potential and access to music in their local areas.

Our showcasing series is what anthem does at its heart. Unlocking barriers, opportunities and music experiences for young people across Wales.

Any young person between the ages of 14-21 can apply to perform at one of our Unlocked showcases, at any level of music experience. This is a chance to get familiar with being on stage and for some young people, it would be their first time performing to a crowd!

Anthem provide the performers with travel expenses, network access and professional photos and audio recording of their performance to use for more gig opportunities in the future!

Since 2024, we have hosted two showcases within half-term time in grassroots venues. Unlocked showcase locations include Club y Bont in Pontypridd, The Fork n Tune in Cwmcarn, The Corn Exchange in Newport, Clwb for Bach in Cardiff, Elysium Gallery in Swansea, CWRW in Carmarthen and The Black Cat in Bridgend.

In the past, other showcasing opportunities from Anthem have included open mics in grassroots venues, free u18 events, music conferences, National Eisteddfod, Tileyard in London, Wales week in London, summer festivals, Wrexham, and Bangor.
