The Anthem Gateway is a digital platform supporting young people in Wales who want to build careers in music. It offers a wide range of resources – including blogs, videos, guides, podcasts, and webinars – created by young people and industry professionals to explore all aspects of the music industry, from performance to back-office roles. Users can connect through the Anthem network, access opportunities, join panels and Q&As, and discover clear pathways into music careers.
Young people in Wales face barriers such as economic deprivation, social and rural isolation, and disability. The Gateway addresses these challenges by providing inclusive, accessible resources that build resilience, confidence, and creative skills. It acts as a bridge into the music industry, ensuring that music continues to empower every young life, complementing the National Plan for Music Education by focusing on access, pathways, and opportunities.
Shaped with support from Creative Wales and led by young creative voices, the platform commissions content ideas from youth and provides paid opportunities in English and Welsh. Young creatives—including musicians, filmmakers, bloggers, and illustrators – can contribute through blogs, podcasts, videos, infographics, guides, and webinars. Participation not only develops practical skills but also increases self-esteem, social connections, and resilience, while providing role models and inspiration for others. By placing youth voices at the centre, the Anthem Gateway ensures that creative opportunities are relevant, inclusive, and empowering, helping to strengthen Wales’ music community and foster sustainable pathways for emerging talent.
